For youth
For the Youth of Tomorrow
A generation asked to give an answer deserves material that respects both their questions and the text.
For the Youth of Tomorrow is for readers old enough to be trusted with the argument of a passage. The questions are already serious. What does the text say? How did the apostles use the Scriptures they had received? Why does a modern retelling so often sound unlike either?
The material now in preparation will be direct. It will attend to genre, wording, and context without the apparatus of a technical commentary, and without the habits of modern Greek philosophy that stand between many readers and the Biblical authors. It is closer to a teacher at the table than to a textbook, and it is meant to be kept.
The studies may be read alone or with others. They meet the home Bible studies on one side and, on the other, the fuller writing for the intellectuals who want the languages and the early literature in more detail. The hope is the hope of the whole imprint: the Apostles’ Doctrine, made understandable, from the whole Bible.
